A year ago I was preparing Jake for his sinus surgery. At that point, we had been battling those darn sinuses for almost eighteen months. We knew he had allergies, and we knew they were having an impact on his growth and development.
We had seen Jake's speech plateau, and there had been ups and downs in his behavior. I think mainly due to not feeling well.
Now a year later, I am thankful that we have found relief and have a clear plan for helping Jake be his best.
I give thanks for a wonderful ENT who had an awesome bedside manner with Jake.
I give thanks to a patient preschool teacher who has taught has given him behavior strategies to help deal with frustrations, and who listens to me when I give suggestions to help Jake be his best.
I give thanks that Jake qualified for speech language services within the school district. Early intervention is key.
I give thanks for my brave little boy who is willing to get three shots a week in his arms to help with his allergies.
